I figured it’s about time I put up something a bit more substantial here than what I previously had. Not that that’s not true. I’m still leaving it at the bottom as kind of a short bio.
So, about me. I am, at the moment, pursuing a PhD in Financial Mathematics. You might also call it Computational Mathematics. Strange thing is, I’m pursuing this field in an Industrial Engineering department. I hope to get done with this as soon as possible, and go back to what I did in my undergrad. No, not bumming around! Ok, so I will do a bit of that as well. What I mean is, my undergraduate degree is in actuarial science, and so I plan to try and qualify as an actuary once I’m done with my PhD. For those of you who don’t know what an actuary is, read this.
So that’s what I’m doing, and plan to do. As for me the person, you’d think I’m a geek, with the PhD thing and all. I guess in some ways I am, but then again, in some ways I’m not. I’m also a perfectionist, a realist who spends a fair bit of time in fantasy land, an occasional idealist, a semi neat freak to list a few. I have an intense passion for reading books, preferably fiction, the game of football (soccer), though I do like American football. Then there’s watching films and tv shows. Love love love music, and most kinds. But if I had to pick a favorite, it’d be rock without a doubt. Anything ranging from light classic rock to the heavy stuff. Oh, and I’m a sucker for romance!
